I had the honor of being chosen to participate in a photography event called Alameda on Camera sponsored by the Frank Bette Center for the Arts. 48 photographers are chosen to capture images in Alameda, CA for 48 hours. Each photographer chooses a section of the the city at random to explore and find images. Prizes are given for categories such as Best in Show, Monochrome, Nighttime, etc.

You can see the gallery for Alameda on Camera and the winning images here.

My section (section 16) was about Birds and Bowling. I didn't win a prize, but I gained experience in printing and framing. I thought the bowling images were interesting. I even considered a series on bowling alleys!

Here's the action at the Lucky Strike bowling alley. Hoping for "Luck or Love on Friday Night".

And then the shoes! I thought they created an interesting pattern. This image is called "Soles".

For the birds, I found a group of pelicans resting in a "Siesta".

I was thrilled to see my images displayed in a gallery, and humbled by the amazing creativity of the local photographers!
