My home in the redwood forest

Recently I returned to Jedidiah Smith State Park to hike and capture more redwood tree images. For nature lovers and tree lovers, this park is a heavenly home. It's a breathtakingly unspoiled forest of old growth redwoods in Northern California. If you visit, breathe deep and mingle with these ancient giants who embody our Earth's abundance!
If you've photographed redwood trees, you know the challenges. The trees are very tall so it's hard to get one tree in an image. "They look like broccoli" one friend said. If you are lucky, you may get fog to help you separate the trees and provide a backdrop. I have not been lucky to encounter fog conditions yet, but return with hope each time!

This time, I decided to work on intimate scenes. Here's what I found:





After the hunt for smaller scenes, I remembered to look up. Jedediah Smith Redwoods is one of my favorite places in California. I feel at home and at peace each time I visit.
